Computers for the Blind
Mission Statement
Our mission is to open the world of information technology to the blind and partially sighted by providing computer equipment and software.
Project Abstract
We provide discounted refurbished computers, desktops and laptops, for the visually impaired. Donors receive a tax deduction.
CFTB provides computers, to visually impaired persons. All age groups, anyone legally blind and needing assistance. To date, we have provided over 12,000 computers to visually impaired individuals.
The donated computers are refurbished by volunteers. This work was formerly done by John Austin. More recently, the task has been shared by volunteers from the North Texas PC Users Group, a volunteer run organization to aid in education, and enhance the distribution of computer knowledge and information.
