  • Project Abstract

Covenant House provides training, employment and education services to the homeless youth in residence as well as at-risk youth who come to our Drop-In center. Staff focuses on helping youth obtain and retain employment, earn a High School Equivalency Diploma and continue on to higher education. The center also provides job skills training on site in culinary arts, public safety and nurse's aide. Upon training completion, youth receive a state certification. We also refer youth to trainings outside the agency. Staff emphasizes the importance of learning computer skills especially so youth can update their resume. We primarily request laptop computers to provide them to the youth continuing their education so that they have the equipment they need to complete their school work. Other equipment is used to help staff complete their work or to provide youth more access to computers.
